Our Mission

Young Latino Professionals is committed to providing opportunities for young professionals to promote development, networking, and civic opportunities throughout the Greater Kansas City area.

Who We Are

In 2007, a group of young professionals were brought together, by three Hispanic organizations, to discuss the future of young Latino professionals in the Kansas City area. From there these individuals formed a group dedicated to engaging and supporting young Latino professionals by providing access to professional development and networking opportunities, as well as providing support to fellow emerging leaders within their respective communities. This group is known today as Young Latino Professionals (YLP).

Today, there are over 350 young professionals who make up our member network. Our members are in their 20s and 30s. They come from all walks of life, work in various industries, such as: engineering, education, arts, health, etc. They are committed, motivated, energetic, self-driven and ambitious young professionals.

YLP is a program of the Greater Kansas City Hispanic Collaborative, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and sponsored by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Kansas City.

YLP is run by seven officers: President; Executive Vice President; Treasurer; Secretary, Parliamentarian, Vice President of Membership, and Vice President of Strategic Partnerships. There are also two non-voting board positions: Latinos of Tomorrow Representative and President Emeritus.

The officers meet monthly to review rising issues, go over committee reports and make final decisions to ensure YLP is fulfilling its mission. The officers are consistently communicating, monitoring and refining YLP’s strategies to ensure its success in engaging and supporting its members and growth.
